Tip 1: Avoid Diets
Many pregnant mothers try crazy diets when trying to get rid of their baby fat, as they think a diet will help to speed up the weight loss. The truth is that a diet may actually have the opposite effect, as your body actually needs a lot of nutrients in order to feed the baby. If you try to go on a diet, you may find that you actually end up gaining more weight than you lose.
The best way to get rid of the baby weight is to eat the right way. Eating when you feel hungry, eat the same amount of food that you used to before you got pregnant, and eat foods that are healthy. If you do this, you shouldn’t need to worry about trying to lose all the weight, as it will basically come off on its own. Make sure to eat plenty of healthy foods, try and cut back on the amount of sugar and fat that you eat, and don’t worry about trying to follow a restrictive diet.
Tip 2: Breastfeed the Little One
One of the best things that you can do to get rid of your baby weight is to breast feed your child. Breastfeeding hasn’t been officially tied to weight loss after pregnancy, but it does help to keep the baby healthy. Part of your diet will be to eat the right foods that will keep both you and the baby healthy, but by breastfeeding you can usually add about 300 calories to your daily diet.
The breastfeeding may not cause you to lose the weight directly, but it will help to keep your hormones balanced properly. A good hormonal balance is the secret to losing weight effectively, and you will find that it is much easier for you to get rid of the baby weight if you breast food your baby instead of bottle feeding the little one.
Tip 3: Eat Lots of Super Foods
When it comes to eating the right way to lose weight, you will find that super foods are at the top of the list. These foods are packed with nutrients, and they will help to keep your body in tip top condition. For this reason, you should make an effort to eat as much of these foods as possible, and you will find that the weight will almost melt away.
Chicken, legumes, and other lean proteins will be the best to help you keep your muscles strong after the pregnancy, and they can give you energy without adding to the fat in your body. Fruits and vegetables that are rich in fiber and minerals will help to fill you up and keep you from being hungry. Dairy products are also good for you, though it is best to eat the low or non-fat versions of these foods.
Try and get a lot of fish in your diet, and add a handful of berries to your morning meal. The antioxidants and fatty acids will go a long way towards boosting your metabolism and keeping your body working well.
Tip 4: Do Lots of Exercise
Exercise is the best thing to do once you have had your baby and recovered from the delivery, and you will find that it will make all of your other efforts very effective. It doesn’t matter what kind of exercise you do, but you will lose the weight as long as you do exercise. Obviously it will be best if you do exercise targeted at helping you to lose weight, so you should plan on doing the right kind of exercise.
Cardio is probably the best thing you can do to get in shape, but it may be hard for you to jog or run due to your health and milk-heavy breasts. Swimming, cycling, or using the elliptical machine will be excellent to help you get in shape. You should also spend a bit of time working on your core muscles every day, focusing on your sides and back as well as your ab muscles. If you work all the muscles around your body evenly, you will be able to get rid of all the fat that has accumulated during your pregnancy. While it is important that you work on burning the belly fat by doing exercises that focus on your stomach, you should work on burning fat all over your body.
Tip 5: Drink Plenty of Water
Water is very important if you are interested in losing weight, and you will find that drinking a lot of water is a great way to ensure that your baby belly disappears. Water helps to prevent dehydration, which is a major cause of water retention and bloating. Water also helps you to avoid eating at the wrong times, as it keeps you full and prevents hunger pangs.
You will find that drinking water will also help to speed up your metabolism, which will in turn help you to burn the food you eat more quickly. Don’t drink too much water, as that can have a negative effect. You should try and drink at least 3 quarts of water, as that will help to keep your body well-hydrated. If you can drink this much water, you should have no trouble having energy for your exercise program, staying hydrated, and avoiding cheating on your diet.
